I have lived in San Francisco for over four years now and have always read about Macy’s Passport Fashion Show and Benefit. For the many years, this spectacular event has taken place at Fort Mason with a runway showcasing some amazing designers and Fall Fashion! As September quickly approached this year (faster than any other year probably mostly due to wedding planning leading up to the most beautiful day of my life on August 14th, marrying my now husband, Nigel!), I sat at home debating whether to go. And I did it! I bought my ticket to Macy’s Passport Fashion Show & Benefit – and for the first time ever, the show this year was held at The Orphem Theater!
My taxi pulled up to the corner of Market St. to the hustle and bustle of everyone heading into the Theater. I was able to meet up with my co-worker and a friend of hers and we walked up the red carpeted stairs to the balcony seating section and grabbed a glass of champagne (of course!!) before taking our seats. The lights dimmed and loud music came from the speakers as we watched all of the models strut out onto the runway! It was amazing to see all of the different sets from each designer – from 20 disco balls hanging from the ceiling for one set to just a set of very tall gold doors for another. The show wrapped up with a performance by Macy Gray! A lot of beautiful Fall Fashion – clogs, knee-high boots, long sweaters and more boots!
