What I Wore: Theory blazer (Bloomingdales); Black & White striped tank-top (H&M); Rag & Bones Jeans (Bloomingdales); Sandals (Zara); Marc by Marc Jacobs cross-body bag; Chanel sunglasses.

Nigel (my husband) and I visit the Ferry Building Farmer’s Market almost every single Saturday morning. It’s quite an amazing routine and I feel extremely lucky to be able to wake up and walk to this iconic and beautiful spot in SF – one of my favorites.  As we approach the Ferry Building we head straight for the outside Blue Bottle coffee kiosk and wait in the line (which moves fairly fast).  On a 75 degree day like today, I went for the New Orleans Style Iced Coffee.  New today to the market is Craftsman & Wolves! They have a spot in the Mission on Valencia street and will now have a stand at the market – awesome. We shared the infamous “Rebel Within” which is an asiago-cheese, green onion, and Easton sausage-flecked muffin with a poached egg in the center and it is quite amazing!

We did our usual route through the entire market and this is one of my favorite times of the year – beautiful flowers and cherries and strawberries! From here, we walked up market to brunch at Bluestem Brasserie and then onto the SFMOMA which closed in a month for a long (but what will be an amazing) renovation.

FASHIONPHILE SF

One of my favorite spots in San Francisco is Maiden Lane.  Not only is it very European (which after living in Italy for five months, I just can’t get enough of!) but it is one of the fashion alley’s of SF – cobblestone streets lead the way down 3 blocks of outdoor cafe’s, a live opera singer, sometimes live jazz as you pass Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Theory, Tory Burch, Escada, Gumps and last but not least even one of frank lloyd wright’s famous buildings – the Xanadu Gallery.

And now amongst the European, fashion alley of SF, a newly discovered boutique that I had to share with you all – Fashionphile.

I love the concept – they sell vintage, rare, limited-edition and discounted luxury bags (think Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Chanel, Gucci and more!)  SF ladies – be sure to stop by their third floor shop during the week or also online and also on Facebook and their blog. AND not only can you shop for these a-mazing bags, but Fashionphile will also buy or sell your authentic luxury bag.

Fashion Books

Lately, I’ve really been into wanting to read all of the great fashion books out there (and there are many, many to choose from!) to learn about different styles, fashion history and just more about the industry.  I wanted to share with you all some great books that I recently received as gifts that I would highly recommend!

‘The Gospel According To Coco Chanel’ By Karen Karbo was given to me by one of my very best friends, Nidhi, for Christmas this past year! It was so thoughtful (and she knows me all too well!!) It is a great story about Coco Chanel and different life lessons from one of the world’s most elegent woman and fashion icons.  Each chapter explores Chanel’s philosophy on a range of themes – from style, self-invention, fearlessness and success to embracing the moment, femininity and living live on your own terms.

‘Style Diaries’ By Simone Werle was given to me by my wonderful brother, David, and his lovely girlfriend, Devin – they also know me very well! This is such an awesome book that literally is a diary of different fashion blogs from people around the world – men and woman – from Berlin to Tokyo and inbetween! Fashion is clearly all over the world now and extends beyond Paris, Milan and New York and there has been a revolution with many people that share the common interest of fashion that have taken their camera, created a blog and now share with the world their sense of fashion.

And a few other books that I have on my shelf that I’d recommend include:

‘Style, Naturally’ by Summer Rayne Oakes given to me by my lovely husband (who is also my photographer for my fashion diary!). This is a great book that is a savvy shopping guide to sustainable fashion and beauty looking at clothes, shoes, beauty products, handbags, jewelry and more!

‘Harper’s Bazaar Fashion – Your Guide to Personal Style’ By Lisa Armstrong is something I blogged about a few months ago and bring back here because it is definitely worth checking out!

‘Elegance’ by Kathleen Tessaro was something that I discovered a book sale and it was ‘The Sunday Times’ Bestseller. It’s more a story about love and also looks at a few characters life as they transfrom to a more true elegenace that wasn’t there before. A fun ‘chic flic’ type of read.

Any other fashion books that you love and would recommend??!?

This week I’m loving….

As you’ve noticed by now, I love the blog – The Coveteur. Not only are the photos amazing, but I love the different fashion profiles they feature.  This photo is from Katherine Power’s feature (she’s the Creative Director and Co-Founder, WhoWhatWear.com). I specifically chose this photo because I just love these boots! These would be perfect paired with a dark pair of skinny jeans and the shirt also featured here (the shirt is Simone by Katie Nehra). The boots are by Maje – a French label.

Hello Spring! I love flowers and I love pink and with Spring upon us (well, maybe not here in San Francisco because the weather forecast is cloudy plus rain!), this photo was perfect to get us in the mood for Spring! The lovely pink heels are Manolo Blahnik! This was featured in the profile highlighting Sylvana Ward Durrett, Director of Special Events, Vogue.

This is from the profile on Fiona Green, Associate Fashion Editor, FLARE Magazine. The sunglasses are Retro Superfuture and I love how this photo is captured with the sunglasses mixed in with old photos.
